Jon Jones and Rashad Evans Drama

After suffering an injured thumb Jon Jones withdrew from his fight against his teammate Rashad Evans. Evans is now set to fight a rising force in the LHW division Phil Davis. Jon Jones' manager Malki Kawa reported on twitter Jones did not need surgery after all, but Evans is still set to fight Phil Davis in UFC 133.

After Jones took the belt from Shogun a lot of attention turned to are we going to see Jones vs Evans for the belt? Well Evans was originally supposed to fight Shogun but he blew he knee and Jones stepped in just 6 weeks after beating Ryan Bader. When the media asked Evans about fighting Jones he kept saying that he wouldn't fight Jones, they were supposedly really close in training and everything. I guess Jones didn't feel the say way or something but he turned around and said he'd fight him, so then we got UFC 133 happening, and we got all this drama about Greg Jackson not gonna corner anybody and saying hes gonna go in the middle of the dessert somewhere and not be apart of it.

So just last friday Jones' manager tweets he doesn't need surgery after all, how convenient now Evans has another fight locked in and Jones isn't going to fight at all till late 2011. Well then that brings up why not let Rashad Fight Jones on another card? Remember Rashad Evans hasn't fought since April of 2010, he cant wait any longer.

There was talk that Jones using Evans to get in with Greg Jackson's camp and learn new stuff to get better, then turn on the camp. The way all this is shaping up I just see a young guy experiencing what its like to be a champion and he's slipping when it comes to the media. With the amount of physical talent that Jone's has and he's still only 23 years old, I think its only natural to let all this go to his head a little bit.
